This media converter links your copper Ethernet network to multimode fiber over distances up to 2km (1.24mi), using 1310nm optics for extended range on OM1/OM2/OM3 or 62.5/125 and 50/125 fiber. The SC fiber module is built in and pre-aligned, running 1000Base-LX with a DIP-switch option for 100Base-FX, while the RJ45 port auto-senses 10/100/1000 speeds for Cat5e or Cat6 connections. It works right out of the box with no configuration, though four DIP switches let you adjust link loss forwarding, storm control, and Fast Ethernet mode if needed. Note it only supports multimode fiber with an SC connector — use two units to bridge two copper devices over a fiber run.
