About this item

This is a universal replacement gas lift cylinder for office chairs, drafting chairs, and bar stools that have started to sink or wobble. It compresses to 13.97" and extends to 21.85", giving 8 inches of adjustable travel, with a 2" outer cylinder and 1-1/8" piston shaft. Built to Class 4 (BIFMA/ANSI) standard from steel, it supports up to 1000 lbs and rotates a full 360°. Measure your current cylinder's dimensions before ordering — it won't fit IKEA chairs or models with a cable pin hook on top.

Compressed length 13.97" (355mm), fully extended 21.85" (555mm) — 8" of travel for extra height
Outer cylinder diameter 2" (50mm), piston shaft 1-1/8" (28mm) — fits most drafting chairs and bar stools
Not compatible with IKEA chairs or models with a cable pin hook on top of the cylinder
Class 4 gas lift (BIFMA/ANSI rated), built from steel, holds up to 1000 lbs
Swaps in easily to replace a sinking old cylinder, with smooth 360° rotation
