About this item

The SD-1 Super Overdrive is BOSS's long-running gain pedal, built around the same asymmetrical clipping circuit as the original OD-1 from 1977. It's known for smooth, musical overdrive rather than harsh distortion, with tight lows and present mids. Works equally well as a standalone drive or stacked with other pedals to shape your tone further.

A classic BOSS overdrive pedal, on the market since 1981 and used across nearly every guitar genre
Asymmetrical clipping circuit (inherited from the original 1977 OD-1) gives a warm, tube-like drive
Tuned for mild-to-moderate gain with focused mids and a tight low end
Cleans up nicely on clean or lightly driven amps, and adds clarity to high-gain setups
Stacks well with other boost, overdrive, or distortion pedals for building custom tones
